MY EDUCATION PHILOSOPHY: 

         

      Hello parents! My name is Paola Najera and this coming year will be my second year of teaching kindergarten! Teaching is my passion and I am so excited to have your child in my classroom. I take my classroom management very seriously as well as my philosophy when it comes to teaching. I am a very big believer in talking things out. Children at this age are still learning how to manage their emotions and in order for them to grow, they need to understand what these big feelings are. A child won't learn if he/she is distracted by whatever is going on within. My Philosophy is to integrate all learning styles in the classroom. Every child learns in their own way and I want my children to succeed. in my classroom, for the visual learners, we'll watch a video or I will explain in great depth what it is that we will be learning (this can also be retained to auditory learners as well). 

Technology in the classroom: 

        The use of technology and traditional style of teaching is not uncommon any more. Even in classrooms as young as kindergarten use technology! In my room, we have a smart board and two computers. The children and I will use certain programs like Starfall and Khan Academy Kids when it comes to academics but also play as well. The use of technology will also be used when it comes time for state testing but also assessments throughout the school year.
